Bennetts Cranes Limited (Bennetts), the official Raimondi Cranes agent of England, Scotland and Wales, successfully erected a MRT84 in Winchester city, Hampshire, England. The erection took one full day, and is scheduled for a 37-week hire period. “As a very light crane, the MRT84 allowed for the use of a small mobile to fit in the narrow road. One challenge this particular jobsite posed was that an underground tank is present. This prevented us from positioning the crane where it was originally planned for based on our conversations with the client,” explained Edward Seager, founder and Managing Director, Bennetts.

“We were able to find a cost-effective solution to meet our client’s needs; the MRT84 was erected at a greater radius in the road without deviating from the original budget, and it still met the jobsite requirements perfectly.” At a 30 meter tower height with a 30 meter jib length, the erected MRT84 onsite boasts a five tonne maximum capacity. Publicly-traded contractor Galliford Try, a longstanding Bennetts client, opted for the MRT84 due to the height proximity capabilities. “The MRT84 is one of two flat tops on the Chesil Street jobsite. Flat top jibs can have much less height difference between them on a multi-crane site than the space needed with traditional A-frame cranes,” added Seager.

Bennetts, named in Cranes&Access magazine’s “Top Ten Tower Crane Companies” list, counts some of the United Kingdom’s foremost construction companies amongst its client roster. Bennetts was appointed the official Raimondi agent of Great Britain in August 2016, followed by the November 2016 appointment of Kwitek Krane for the south of Germany.
