Four Raimondi MRT111s for world-class development in Sharjah, UAE

News: 19 June 2023

Raimondi Middle East installed four Raimondi flat-tops for the under-development Vida Residences Aljada project in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Owned and developed by the Sharjah-based developer, Arada, the four branded buildings in the Vida Aljada complex are the first of the three Emaar Hospitality properties that will be built in the Emirate’s largest mixed-use destination.

“This project represents a key milestone for Raimondi Middle East, as we continue working with Arada on the construction of the largest and fastest growing mega-project in the Emirate of Sharjah,” highlighted Wael Hasan, Commercial Director, Raimondi Middle East. Hasan emphasized that participating in one of the first partnerships builds between two of the UAE’s master developers is a source of pride for the Raimondi site team.

Installed by the Raimondi technical team in May 2023, the four MRT111-8t present identical configurations in terms of jib length, 50m, tip load, 2.3tn. All cranes are equipped with hoisting gear of 30kW and a drum capacity of 450m, lifting at a maximum speed of 100 meters per minute (m/min).

“In terms of tower heights, the flat-tops are currently operating in freestanding with heights under the hook (HUH) ranging between 36m to 48m; however, Raimondi Middle East will support each crane anchoring and climbing procedure, based on the jobsite progression, to bring the machines to the final heights of 63m and 69m,” Hasan explained.

Onsite for additional 12 months, “the MRT111s are considered an optimal fit for this site based on the specifications: maximum load, hoist speed, as well as tower height versatility. These were some of the key characteristics we evaluated when selecting the crane model to deploy. In fact, the accelerated project schedule, paired with the similar crane configuration and congested site logistics, required a careful study of each crane position to ensure greater ROI and to avoid overlap,” concluded Hasan.
