Assistedile rents three Raimondi flattops for highly-touted Milan residential development

News: 9 February 2022

Official agent of Italy for the province of Milan and Monza Brianza, Assistedile Srl, deployed three Raimondi flattop tower cranes for the construction of three new residential towers in the Northern area of Milan, Italy.

“The decision to rent to the contractor, Ediltecno Restauri Srl, one Raimondi MRT234, one MRT159, and one MRT102, came from the necessity of having machines with big lifting capacity matched with excellent hoist speed that would allow us to boost site productivity. Onsite we have flattops lifting a maximum of 12tn equipped with up to 55kW hoisting winch like the MRT234,” said Luciano Friso, Chief Executive Officer, Assistedile.

The MRT102 and the MRT159 were installed with heights of 59m and 80m respectively, and jib lengths ranging between 30m and 34m. The MRT234, a 12t maximum lifting capacity machine, is freestanding at the impressive height of 90m with a jib of 65m.

Installed between in Q4 of 2021, the cranes will remain on site for approximately 18 to 20 months, lifting concrete panels and other construction materials as needed until project completion.

“The jobsite was congested due to several other activities taking place simultaneously, and there were many other types of equipment involved, so we had to strategically study the positioning and erection phase of each crane to ensure onsite safety.” Friso added that the cranes needed to facilitate operational procedures; another significant aspect they considered when selecting the crane models.

“The MRT159 arrives onsite with all pre-parts already assembled, and the MRT234’s ease of installation due to the lighter jib components is also helpful,” he said.

Upon completion, Trilogy Towers will consist of three eco-sustainable residential blocks – Gold, Diamond, and Platinum – comprised of 12, 14 and 17 storeys. Facing the future American consulate and Monte Stella, an artificial hill surrounding the city’s park, the towers will include various services such as fitness and green areas, a playground, and several recreational spaces.

“The past year was extremely rewarding for our company; Assistedile was involved in a series of important regional projects including Sei Milano and Torre Milano. We look at 2022 very positively as we aim to keep our clients satisfied by providing the best machines available in the market, while boosting our partnership with Raimondi Cranes,” Friso said.
